Former Intel CEO launches a benchmark to measure AI alignment

After former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger capped off a greater than 40-year profession on the semiconductor large in December, many puzzled the place Gelsinger would go subsequent. In partnership with a “religion tech” firm he first invested in roughly 10 years in the past known as Gloo, Gelsinger launched a brand new benchmark — Flourishing AI, or FAI — to check how effectively AI fashions align with sure human values. The FAI benchmark is predicated on The World Flourishing Examine, a survey directed by Harvard and Baylor College, to measure human well-being all over the world.

Gloo took six core classes from the research — Character and Advantage, Shut Social Relationships, Happiness and Life Satisfaction, That means and Function, Psychological and Bodily Well being, Monetary and Materials Stability — and added yet one more, Religion and Spirituality, to check LLMs.

In an interview with The New Stack, Gelsinger stated he’s “lived on the intersection of religion tech my total life.”
