Over 250 CEOs sign open letter supporting K-12 AI and computer science education

Greater than 250 CEOs signed an open letter printed in The New York Instances on Monday calling for AI and laptop science to be “core parts” of Ok-12 curricula.

The signatories, which embrace Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Etsy CEO Josh Silverman, and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, argue that laptop science and AI schooling are important to “protecting America aggressive.”

“International locations like Brazil, China, [South] Korea, and Singapore have already made laptop science or AI necessary for each scholar,” the letter reads. “The US is falling behind. Within the age of AI, we should put together our kids for the long run — to be AI creators, not simply shoppers.”

The letter arrives as President Donald Trump’s administration works to form a brand new U.S. AI coverage — and as deep cuts to federal packages danger harming elementary AI analysis.
